~I downloaded this book in 2013 and read it, however, I did not write a review for it. Currently, I was unable to remember the plot or much of anything about it. I have reread this short story. Now I know why I didn’t remember it…it was not really very impressive.
~Within the first few pages, there was a major plot give-a-way. There is no real mystery or surprise or adventure.
~It has the word “Christmas” in the title…I do believe that is what first attracted me to it. However, it really has nothing to do with Christmas. It takes place during the season…there is a mention of Christmas traffic.
~The characters are very one-dimensional.
~This short story reads more like a part of a chapter in a larger book. It starts abruptly and ends abruptly.
~This is not a story that I can recommend.

White Collar Christmas A Short Romantic Mystery edition by Misty Evans Romance eBooks Reviews

I'm glad this was a freebie. I understand it was a "short" romantic mystery, but this was a waste of time. It was way too short.

There was no point in getting caught up in the storyline, because the story was over so quickly. If there was a full mystery book available, there wasn't enough of the "short" to make me want to pursue the storyline. That is, unless it was FREE too.
Evans has written a short Christmas Romance with a hint of suspense. This is good for a quick read during a break.
Well, ain't that a surprise!?
I don't want to ruin it for future readers, so I won't go into detail about how the story turns out. I will say, that this story was put together nicely, and it had a steady momentum that I found to be entertaining.

A bit corny in places, but it lightened the story enough to keep it from being too deep of a story. You kind of figure out what's going on right from the beginning, but it didn't effect the story at all.

I would recommend this light read.
If you are looking for a typical Christmas story, this is not it. Except for a few references to the date, there is nothing Christmasy about this one. It is a light, amusing, story of two F.B.I. agents and the deliberate misunderstanding between them. This is good for an amusing few minutes of your time.

Just a note I had never heard of a "forgerer" .The word is used throughout the story. Mr. Webster never heard of it either!!!
The word is forger, One who forges or one who is guilty of forgery. I am surprised that an editor did not catch such a glaring mistake!
One of the things important to me in a short story is that it has a beginning, middle and end. The beginning of White Collar Christmas is the encounter in the cab and the first martini night. The middle is the comments about the two talking in the limo and the places they have gone and the end is the final scene when he reveals the entire situation is a training exercise for new undercover trainees and how she passed. White Collar Christmas was a cute short story and one I enjoyed.
This was a well written piece that showed author voice and ability with dialogue and descriptive prose.

A female FBI rookie is on assignment as undercover chauffeur for a forger. Little does she know that the forger is on an undercover assignment of his own type. As the plot was "outted" rather early, there was no mystery. And while this was intended as a romance type, the rookies seemed unprofessional in breaking many agent code types related to personal contact with suspects. Though, there could have been no romance then to develop for the story premise. It just seemed like she would have failed the training with her allowing such contact with the criminal (on her own). Perhaps there was some early directives from superiors - but the reader was never enlightened to such - making her actions seem a bit implausible, especially given her rookies status.

Though, was good intro to author ability and I am interested in the full of the excerpt provided after the short. Many will enjoy this short fast read and I recommend getting it while free and saving dollar to invest in longer work of this author.

Christine
I read this short story while fixing dinner which is why I like these because they can be read fairly quickly in between my normal reading of full size novels.

This is the story of Sara, a rookie cop who is on the White Collar crimes task force. She is on her first undercover assignment where she is acting as a chaffeur to Alex Batisto who is thought to be an art forger. She is immediately attracted to him and has to try to keep her attraction in check as she has a job to do and he is a suspect. There is a twist in this story so I won't tell any more as it would contain spoilers.

I liked this short story and all I would change is that I would have saved the twist for the end of the book. The reader is told very early on what is happening so there's really no surprise as to what is going on.

At the time I downloaded this short story to my kindle it was being offered for free in the kindle store, which in no way affected my review.
